History
Partington & Carrington Youth Partnership (PCYP) started off in 2003 under the name 'Make Space' Partnership. This was a Government project aimed at increasing provision for young people aged between 11 and 19 years old and was led by Kim Steed (Youth Development Worker). However, over time it was recognised that the agencies involved needed to reach a much wider age group and as such decided to break away from the 'Make Space' rules and expand.
The result of this breakaway was the PCYP which looks at planning, organising and most importantly delivering events, activities and services for 0-25 year olds. The PCYP is now in the process of becoming a consortium which will allow it to bring in external funds for both services and staffing.
It is split into 2 groups:
The PCYP Core Group which discusses strategic items such as funding, staffing, publicity etc. Members are listed under Contacts
The PCYP which is a meeting of all service providers in the area. These meetings are based around information sharing and planning of events such as holiday programmes. All the agencies involved are listed under The Partnership
Some of the events run by the PCYP include Why Don't You, Why Don't You 2. Partington 5-a-side Football League, Screamin' Wheels Skatepark Launch, Summer/Holiday Programmes, Blast!, Urban Leisure etc!
Details of all events both past, present and upcoming can be found of this website.
